Volunteers from Posco International provide medical support in Indonesia. [POSCO INTERNATIONAL]

Posco International, the trading arm of steel maker Posco, dispatched medical volunteer workers to Papua, Indonesia’s easternmost province. The company said on Sunday that it conducted this year’s round of medical volunteer activity between July 6 and 13 in cooperation with partner institutions, including Korea University Ansan Hospital, Women’s Health Foundation and Seegene Medical Foundation.

The region is home to Posco International’s Palm Oil office, and the unit has built hospitals, schools and religious facilities since 2011.

The annual medical program work dates back to 2016 and is undertaken with the aim of providing support to the region’s residents.

This year, 30 employees, 30 medical experts and another 30 volunteer workers offered medical services to about 1,160 local residents.
