Mercedes-Benz Korea sells its 100,000th E-class vehicle

The 10th generation E-class luxury sedan from Mercedes-Benz has become the first import car model to reach 100,000 units in sales in Korea.

Mercedes-Benz Korea announced in a statement Monday that it delivered the 100,000th unit of the E-class model on July 19, just over three years since its debut to the local market in June 2016.

The achievement symbolizes the German automaker’s solid progress in the Korean market, as the company has remained competitive among all import auto brands available for local consumers.

According to the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association, while foreign automakers saw their combined vehicle sales contract 22 percent during the first six months of this year, Mercedes-Benz remained in top place, selling 6,800 units of the E-300 during the same period.

In celebrating the milestone, Mercedes-Benz Korea is running a marketing campaign of giving prizes via a lucky draw to those who purchased E-class sedans in Korea.
