Hyeri joins the Unicef Honors Club

Singer-turned-actor Hyeri became the youngest member of the Unicef Honors Club by donating 100 million won to the organization, her agency Creative Group ING announced on Friday.

The 25-year-old attended a registration ceremony and received a plaque of certification the following day. Her donation will be used to support the organization’s “Schools for Asia” campaign, which strives to improve access and quality of education for disadvantaged children.

“It’s been 10 years since I debuted and it was through my fans’ love that I was able to arrive at a place that I am now. I always wanted to repay the love I received from fans all around the world in some way,” the artist said at the ceremony.

Unicef Honors Club is a club for donors who have given more than 100 million won to the local organization. Figure skater Kim Yuna, actors Ahn Sung-ki, Won Bin, and Lee Min-ho, and BTS member Jin are also members of the club.
