ITZY hits 20 million views for ‘ICY’

Rookie girl group ITZY set a new a record for itself with its latest release “ICY,” JYP Entertainment said on Tuesday.

The music video for “ICY,” released on Sunday evening prior to the song’s official release on Monday, recorded 20 million views just 25 hours after its release, the fastest the group has ever reached for this milestone.

“The music video for ‘ICY’ was seen over 5 million times within 10 hours, 10 million times within 18 hours and hit 18 million views in 24 hours,” the agency said.

“This comes faster than the speed of views it reached with its debut track ‘Dalla Dalla.’”

According to the agency, the new track also sat high on local streaming charts, topping the “Now Hot” chart on six of Korea’s major music streaming services including Naver Music, Genie, Olleh, Bugs and Soribada.

“It currently sits on the top of the iTunes albums chart in 12 regions, proving its global power,” the agency said on Tuesday morning.

ITZY made its big debut in February with the EP “IT’z Different” and has quickly become one of the most popular newbie girl groups of 2019. They recently formed their official fan club named MIDZY.
