Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas

: Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong, southern Seoul, announced it would host a seven-course gala dinner at Table 34 with renowned Italian cuisine chef Theo Randall who runs five Italian restaurants in different countries. Five rare Italian wines selected by head sommelier Yoo Seung-min will also be available to pair with the dinner menu presented.

Theo Randall is an eminent Italian cuisine chef with 30 years of experience, operating fine dining Italian restaurant Theo Randall in London. The restaurant is widely considered one of the must-visit restaurants in London. The British celebrity chef has appeared on a number of famous TV shows, including BBC’s “MasterChef” and “Saturday Kitchen.”

He earned a Michelin star in 1997 when he was working as the head chef of London’s famed River Cafe, and his namesake restaurant was chosen as the Italian restaurant of the year in its second year. Following the London restaurant that started in 2006, he continued to open branches of his namesake restaurant in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Zurich and now runs five Italian restaurants in total. He has also published books, “Pasta” (2006) and “My Simple Italian” (2015).

This gala dinner prepared by the visiting chef will come with a variety of uncommon and precious Italian wines for pairing. Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze ? Bisol ’17, which will be paired with the appetizer course, is produced by Grand Cru vineyard Cartizze, which is known for top-grade Prosecco. The rare sparkling wine accounts for less than 1 percent of the total global output. Also, Barbaresco ? Bava ’15 to be served with the main dishes is from an eminent wine producer with over one hundred years of history and is known for its delicate, mild flavor unique to Barbaresco.

Theo Randall’s gala dinner at Table 34 will be held for three days from Oct. 24 to Oct. 26 and is limited to 40 guests per day at 250,000 won ($209), or 350,000 won with a wine pairing. Tax and service charges are included.

: Tavolo 24, the restaurant at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul, celebrates the arrival of autumn with “Taste of Sea,” a Sichuan seafood promotion combining seasonal delicacies with the unique flavors and spicy aromas of mala sauce.

This season’s promotional menu features Sichuan-style seafood favorites including cold dishes crafted from fan mussels, sea squirts, abalone, white sea snails, clams, squid and conch flown in fresh from China, plus hot dishes including steamed scallops, snow crab and blue crab, as well as Sichuan specialty mala crawfish, crispy deep-fried sea cucumber and eel, and huajiao eel.

Guests choosing the Taste of Sea promotional menu will also be served a bowl of richly-flavored malatang, featuring authentic Chinese-style spicy broth with vegetables and seafood, at the table.

The promotion is available at dinner time on weekdays and during brunch and dinner service on weekends and is priced at 98,000 won per person including a 10 percent tax and 10 percent service charge. Tavolo 24, the venue for this autumn’s promotion, is an all-day restaurant offering panoramic views of the historic Seoul landmark Heunginjimun Gate. Tavolo 24 serves unique Korean dishes crafted from the finest local ingredients, complemented by a diverse selection of European, Southeast Asian, Japanese and Chinese dishes to offer a truly international epicurean experience.

: Grand Hilton Seoul has announced that they will hold the “Falling in Wine” promotion this season.

For this wine promotion, Grand Hilton Seoul has prepared California’s premium wines, Chateau Souverain Cabernet Sauvignon and Chateau Souverain Chardonnay. Souverain means overwhelming in French, and the red wine Chateau Souverain Sauvignon stands out for its sold structure and soft tannin. White wine Chateau Souverain Chardonnay, filled with a fresh fruit aroma, offers a plush texture and balanced acidity with a long, flavorful finish.

Also, Grand Hilton Seoul’s all-day dining restaurant Atrium offers “Autumn Special Course” and “Autumn Gourmet Pairing” promotions.

The autumn special course offers a glass of red and white wine, each of which combines a course meal with a fantastic combination. The course menu will be included with grilled shrimp with scallop ceviche salmon roe, melba toast, seasonal vegetables, chestnut soup and apple strudel. It is 100,000 won per person, including tax.

You may also enjoy a paring set. The Autumn Gourmet Pairing offers a choice of grilled lamb chops and a glass of red wine, a salmon avocado tartare and a glass of white wine or pasta (choose one from bolognese, carbonara or pomodoro pasta) and a glass of red or white wine. The grilled lamb ribs set is 55,000 won, the salmon avocado tartare set is 29,000 won, and the pasta set is 34,000 won including tax.

Only wine can be purchased separately. At the Atrium and the premium bakery shop Alpine Deli, you may get a discount of up to 30 percent for a bottle and 14,000 won for a glass during the promotional period.

The hotel’s entertainment bar, Terrace Lounge, also offers a wine set known as “Wine O’clock”. It consists of a set of cheese plates that are great with a bottle of white wine. The price is 160,000 won including tax.
