NCT 127 to perform at 2019 EMAs

Boy band NCT 127 will become the first K-pop group to perform at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs), SM Entertainment announced on Tuesday.

According to the agency, NCT 127 will be taking the stage in Seville, Spain, on Nov. 3 for the 2019 MTV EMAs as the invited guests.

“Pop superstar Dua Lipa will be joining the 2019 main show performer lineup along with some new faces to the MTV EMA: Seoul-based global pop powerhouse NCT 127,” MTV said.

“Dua Lipa and NCT 127 join previously announced performers Niall Horan, Halsey, Rosalia, EMA show host Becky G, Akon, Ava Max and Mabel. Iconic rock act Green Day, The Struts and Leon Benavente will also perform from Seville’s spectacular Plaza de Espana as a part of ‘MTV World Stage Seville.’”

The awards show will be broadcast live to 180 countries worldwide.

The MTV EMAs began in 1994 and honors the most popular songs and music videos in Europe.

At home, NCT 127 will receive an award from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism today at the 2019 Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards.
