Bae Cheol-soo to host president

Singer Bae Cheol-soo has been selected to host an open dialogue session with president Moon Jae-in next Tuesday at 8 p.m., MBC announced on Wednesday.

According to the channel, they were looking for a media-friendly face who can create a comfortable atmosphere for the president to communicate with citizens, and they thought Bae was the right man.

Bae has hosted his MBC radio show “Bae Cheol-soo’s Music Camp” since 1990.

The live question-and-answer session will be held in a town hall meeting format. MBC is planning to accept 300 citizens to the special session that will air live. A similar meeting with the president was held in May on KBS.

“Any questions are welcome and can lead to a topic of discussion, from politics and the North-South relationship, to everyday worries like employment, child care or housing prices,” the channel said. “Those who are unable to make it to the live event can send in their questions via video and we will air them during the conference.”
