Cho Young-nam announces a show

As he awaits a final verdict from the Supreme Court, veteran singer Cho Young-nam will hold his first dinner show in four years, event organizer Blue Mont announced on Tuesday.

“Cho Young-nam will be holding his first solo dinner show in four years at the 63 Convention Center [western Seoul] on Dec. 29,” the organizer said.

The “Happy New Year” dinner show will be divided into two parts: the first half being Cho’s concert and the second half, a dinner show.

“Cho Young-nam is a singer who cannot be replaced by anyone else. From classic to pop, his music crosses boundaries and makes audiences laugh and cry,” the organizer said.

“He is determined to make this dinner show the best ever.”

Cho, a 74-year-old singer who made his debut in 1969, was indicted in 2016 for having his assistant paint his work, adding just the finishing touches himself and selling the works as if they were his.

The first court ruled him guilty of fraud, but a higher court ruled him not guilty.
