YouTube opens a pop-up studio

YouTube opened up a pop-up studio for local artists and music creators to experience on Wednesday.

The “YouTube Pop-Up Space Seoul” is focused on music. Borrowing space from the Gangnam branch of Bando Camera, the studio offers a small stage where artists can interact with fans and space where artists can create their own video content. Workshops for music insiders will also be hosted where they can learn more about the YouTube Certification program and copyrights from related experts.

Artists Sunmi and Crush are also expected to visit during the three days the pop-up will run to film music performances and their everyday lives to share with fans. The studio provides space and all the necessary equipment for the singers

Singer Eric Nam, who recently released his all-English album, will have a fan meet and performance today at 8 p.m.

“Through this YouTube Pop-Up Space, we hope that we can create an opportunity to enhance communication between fans and artists, and encourage local music labels to be globally active through our platform,” said Kim Min-ji, YouTube partner manger.

“We will not hesitate to provide chances for talented musicians’ music to be reached from far and wide to their international fans.”
