Twice ties Mariah Carey in Japan

Twice’s second Japanese album “&Twice” topped Oricon’s Weekly Album Ranking and other music charts in Japan, its agency JYP Entertainment said on Thursday.

According to Oricon, Twice took No. 1 on the chart’s Weekly Album Ranking for the fifth time, nabbing the title as the foreign female artist to have the highest number of No. 1 albums - along with pop star Mariah Carey.

Their latest release was dropped on Nov. 20, featuring 10 songs made just for the Japanese fans.

They have previously topped the charts with “BDZ” (2018), their first Japanese full-length, sixth Korean EP “Yes or Yes” (2018), Japanese album “#Twice2” and seventh Korean EP “Fancy You.”

They are currently touring around the world for their tour series “Twicelights.” They recently added two concerts to be held at the Tokyo Dome on March 3 and 4 next year.
