Jan 23,2020

K-pop superstars BTS announced on Wednesday a new globe-trotting concert tour to take place this year, this time titled “Map of the Soul.”

“BTS starts a new world tour, titled ‘Map of the Soul,’ this year, following its successful ‘Love Yourself’ tour last year,” its agency Big Hit said, adding that additional information about the upcoming tour will follow soon, possibly including more stops.

The tour will kick off with four concerts in Seoul, on April 11, 12, 18 and 19 at Seoul Olympic Stadium, followed by a total of 37 shows in 17 cities around the world. The first lineup of destinations includes stops in the United States, Canada, Japan, Britain, Germany and Spain.

The U.S. leg of the tour will kick off on April 25 in Santa Clara, California, and move to Los Angeles; Dallas; Orlando, Florida; Atlanta; East Rutherford, New Jersey; Washington, D.C. and Chicago.

After stopping at Fukuoka, the septet will then fly to Toronto, Canada, before launching the tour’s European leg spanning London, Berlin and Barcelona, Spain.

After the Europe shows, the group will return to Japan for strings of shows in Osaka, Saitama and Tokyo, Big Hit said. The group’s agency released a promotional poster for the tour that provides the dates and venues of the planned concerts.

For the “Love Yourself” tour that kicked off in August 2018 and ran through October 2019, BTS performed a total of 62 concerts in 23 cities, drawing more than 2 million fans. It became the first world tour by a K-pop act to sell out all of its venues.

The concert tour was announced ahead of the release of the group’s fourth full-length album “Map of the Soul: 7” on Feb. 21. “Black Swan,” a song off of the upcoming album, currently sits high on local music charts.
