U-20 ice hockey team wins IIHF Championship Div. II-B

Korea’s U-20 ice hockey team won the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division II - Group B in Korea on Monday.

Led by head coach Jim Paek, Korea defeated Croatia 4-2 at Gangneung Hockey Centre. With a win on the final day, Korea finished the tournament with a record of 15 points, winning all five of their matches.

Before their match against Croatia, Korea started the tournament with a 5-1 victory against the Netherlands on Jan. 28, followed by another 5-2 win against Belgium the next day. On Saturday, Korea picked up a 1-0 win against China.

By winning Division II - Group B, Korea will advance onto Division II - Group A for the 2021 World Championship, where they’ll compete against Lithuania, England, Romania and Italy.
