Park In-bee tied for lead at ISPS Handa Australian Open

Feb 15,2020
After the second round of the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open, Park In-bee is tied for the lead with Jodi Ewart Shadoff of England at 10 under par, 136.

Having started her second round one shot behind the leader, Shadoff, Park shot four under par, 69, on Friday to make her way up to tie for the lead.

Since Park is the sixth-highest ranked Korean golfer in the world, she is in desperate need of a win or two to boost her ranking to have a shot at competing at the Olympics.

Due to this, Park started her season earlier than usual. She got off to a solid start by finishing runner-up at the LPGA Tour’s season opener but struggled at the next two events as she missed the cuts in both.

A win may not mean that she’ll be one of the top-4 Korean golfers who automatically qualify for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, but it’ll definitely allow her to make a jump in the world ranking.
