Wedding wear
A wedding robe worn by men in Korea in the 1960s was returned to Korea after decades of being abroad, the Overseas Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation announced Wednesday. The robe was in the possession of Bonaventura Schuster, a member of St. Ottilien Archabbey in Germany, who was dispatched to Korea beginning in 1959. He returned to the abbey in 1984 and donated the robe to the Mission Museum of the abbey in 1987. The robe is significant because of the general lack of examples of wedding robes worn by ordinary citizens in Korea in the 1960s, according to the foundation.
