Daewoong Pharmaceutical

Daewoong Pharmaceutical distributed its book on Covid-19 for free to 500 institutions supporting those with developmental disabilities. The book, containing information on how to prevent catching the virus, is also available online.



Hanwha Group

Hanwha Group offered up its staff training center in Yonggin, Gyeonggi, to be used for treatment of new coronavirus patients, on Thursday. Completed in April 2019, the facility holds more than 200 rooms, each equipped with beds, a bathroom, shower facilities, TV and wireless internet spread across 82,000 square meters (882,640 square feet). Hanwha is the third conglomerate to put out a staff training center for treatment behind Samsung and LG, but the building is the first to be located outside the Daegu and North Gyeongsang regions.



Hyundai Heavy Industries

Hyundai Heavy Industries is running a second mass blood donation campaign among its employees and those of its affiliates on Thursday and Friday. Its previous blood donation campaign last month brought out 700 employees requesting to participate.



LG Group

LG Group provided 10,000 units of protective clothing, 100,000 protective masks and daily necessities for health professionals working in coronavirus-hit areas in Daegu and North Gyeongsang. The conglomerate said its subsidiaries pulled strings from global supply networks to secure the donations.



LG U+

LG U+ expanded the size of a fund aimed at helping its small- and mid-sized suppliers. It will add 25 billion won ($21 million) more to the existing fund managing 80 billion won, for a total of 105 billion won.



Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance

Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance donated 400 million won to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association. The money will be used to purchase masks, hand sanitizer and daily necessities for medical staff, quarantined people and low-income families in regions hit by the new coronavirus.



Shinsegae Group

Shinsegae Group offered 3,000 sets of self-quarantine items and food for medical professionals in Daegu and the nearby North Gyeongsang region. It also put together a 900 billion won fund to support its small-sized suppliers. Partners based in Daegu and North Gyeongsang will be prioritized recipients, the company said.



S-Oil

S-Oil put out 500 million won to Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association. The oil company delivered preventive masks and sanitizer to staff in Daegu and North Gyeongsang regions.
