Baedal Minjok

Baedal Minjok is refunding half of advertisement and other fees for March and April, with a limit of 300,000 won ($242) per partner, to its 140,000 partners. The delivery app also donated meal coupons worth 3 billion won for the vulnerable and provided 2 billion won worth of food to medical staff and volunteers.



KB Financial Group

KB Financial Group will provide free delivery services of medical supplies to low-income households until the end of June to Daegu and North Gyeongsang. KB Financial Group will offer its training institute in Sacheon, South Gyeongsang, as a treatment facility for patients with mild symptoms in the event of a shortage of care facilities.



Korean-German Chamber of Commerce

The Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry collected donations totalling 1.06 billion won from 14 German companies in Korea and eight individuals. The funds will be sent to charity organizations and used to support the vulnerable, medical staff and hospitals.



Samsung Electronics

Samsung Electronics is sharing manufacturing technology with mask companies to help them boost production in the near term. Since March 3, the company has been sending its smart factory experts to three domestic mask producers recommended by the Korea Federation of SMEs to teach them how to modify equipment to expand production using existing assets. The experts also helped with installing new equipment and also offered support by making necessary equipment needed to boost production. This usually takes a month but was completed in seven days at a Samsung research center.

The company assisted in this way last month in its support of Hwajin. With the help of Samsung employees, the manufacturer was able to increase mask production to 100,000 units a day from 40,000. Related companies, including Samsung C&T, Samsung Display and others, have secured 284,000 masks from overseas offices and donated them to Daegu through the Hope Bridge Association of the National Disaster Relief.



Standard Chartered Bank Korea

Standard Chartered (SC) Bank Korea delivered 5,000 masks to Keimyung University Daegu Dongsan Hospital. The masks were shipped by the SC Group to protect Korean employees and customers. Standard Chartered Bank Korea raised a total of 133 million won early this month for coronavirus prevention and patient support through a fund-raising campaign.
