Singer-turned-actor Park Gyu-ri apologized on Monday for going to a club in central Seoul's Itaewon during the social distancing period outlined by the government.

"I give my deepest apologies for not abiding by a rule that everyone should have kept during the social distancing period, regardless of any reasons," said Park.

Park's apology came an hour after local media outlet Wikitree reported that Park was spotted at a club in Itaewon, the same day that Patient No. 66 from Yongin, Gyeonggi, visited the clubs in the neighborhood.

Wikitree received a video of Park from an anonymous source, the outlet said.

According to Park, she visited a designated clinic and tested negative for the coronavirus and has been staying at home since.

"I was wearing a mask all throughout my stay [at the club] and got myself tested as soon as I saw the news article about the patient," she said.

Park debuted as a part of girl group Kara in 2007 and has been actively pursuing a career in acting since 2016, when the group disbanded.

She jointly donated 10,000 masks to Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center in Daegu with her partner Song Ja-ho in March.
