Kim Jong-il Unveiled

The summit now underway in Pyongyang, North Korea is the center of attention for most of the world. In particular, seperated families in Korea are desperately hoping for the reunification of the two Koreas. South and North Korea have been technically at war since the Korean War.

Each stage of the summit has been broadcast on television. Kim Jong-il attracted a great deal of atttention when he unveiled himself to the world. A great deal of curiosity has been generated by the sudden appearance of Kim Jong-il in the summit proceedings.

In the United States, the media is accustomed to knowing the exact where-abouts of the president and his administration. In comparison, Chairman Kim’s where-abouts are always unknown, and he never travels in the open.

The U.S. has remained cautious in its hopes that North Korea will actually cease missile development and join the rest of the world. As soon as President Kim landed in North Korea, the U.S. press began broadcasting any and all details regarding Chairman Kim’s actions and words.

“His unexpected appearance at the airport to welcome his southern counterpart says a great deal about his style. While there have been various rumors about Kim Jong-il’s health, he looked very healthy and active during the summit.”

Western media, in its quest for more information on the reclusive leader of North Korea, has taken advantage of the summit to collect a plethora of personal information on Kim Jong-il.
