2000 Boochun Comics Festival

The '2000 Boochun Comic Festival' will be held at Boksagol Culture Center in Boochun from August 30 to September 5, showcasing comic strips from around the world.

The theme of this second Boochun comic festival is 'A New Perspectives on Korean Comics.' 'Korean Under-Comics' will introduce many unfamiliar but interesting comics which contain unique themes, content, and structure. 'History of Korean Comics' and 'Digital Comics,' which studies the present condition of Korean digital comics, will be introduced as well.

In this festival, five major French comic companies will exhibite French comic strips, which have not been introduced to Korean readers, under the name, 'French Comics Special Exhibition.'

There will be more exhibitions on modern French comic strips, cartoon shows for children, and work site displays through which people can see the actual sites where cartoonists working on their pieces.

The Comics Club Union, which is organized with 20 teams from junior high schools, high schools, and universities in Boochun area, will hold 'Boochun Student Amateur Comics Festival' along with the 'Boochun Comics Festival.'
