Cherry Blossom Street
A recent conference held to address ways to improve the water quality of Anyang Stream decided to plant 500 cherry trees along a 40km stretch of the stream by the end of this year and to build a street entitled "Forty Kilometer Cherry Blossom Street' by 2002.An official of Anyang City said, "If the cherry blossoms are planted there, the street will be a place for where citizens can relax and be entertained. We are planing a variety of events to be held on the street."
The conference consisted of 11 officials from the 11 wards of Seoul and the cities of Kyonggi Province.
