'Chun-Hyang' to Compete at Cannes

'Chun-Hyang', a movie directed by Im Kwon-taek, has been nominated for the Flims on Competition in this year's 53rd Cannes Film Festival.

Taeheung Entertaintment, a production of 'Chun-Hyung,' announced on April 18 that the president of the Cannes Flim Festival jury had notified them of 'Chun-Hyang's' notification for Films on Competition.

'Chun-Hyang' will officially compete for the Palme d'Or, Grand Jury Prize, prizes in Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Screenplay and a Special Jury Prize with films from various contries.

In addition, 'Oh! Soo-jung' directed by Hong Sang-soo and produced by Miracin Korea, was invited for the 'Un Certain Regard' category. Director Hong Sang-soo had been invited in the 1998 Cannes Film Festival with his movie, 'The Power of Kangwon.'

'Peppermint Candy' by director Lee Chang-dong was invited to Director's week. 'Happy End' directed by Chung Ji-woo was invited to the International week of Critiques.
