Chusok Expenses Estimated at 120,000 won

The price of food during the Chusok holiday is considered a good indicator of the state of the economy.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced that consumers will spend approximately 123,960 won to prepare the traditional Korean ancestor worship table.

This year's estimate is close to last year's 123,800 won. Compared to last year, fruits and vegetables declined in price while beef and pork rose by 5 percent. In a marked contrast, fish products are expected to increase as much as 16 percent in price.
