A cyber music contest will be held for the first time.
Munwha Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) will hold the 'Fam-net Song Festival', an on-line music contest in file form (such as MP3 files) and as CDs submitted by participants. All applications and the judging of the submissions will be carried out over the Internet, and anyone can participate in the judging of the preliminary rounds. The judges of the final round will consist of TV art progam producers and pop music critics.
The chief producer of MBC, Joo Chul Hwan, said, 'The Internet is rising as the debut stage for rookie-entertainers. But the problem awaiting solution is the limitations on users' ages and characters.'
