Deep Purple to Hold Another Concert in Korea

"It is amazing. The enthusiasm of the audience is unbelievable."
Deep Purple lead singer Ian Gillan made this comment at the Triport Rock Festival held at Inchon, western Seoul on July 31, 1999. While the stormy weather gave the band some competition, crowds remained enraptured by the performance.
Deep Purple are to visit Seoul to hold another concert at 7pm on April 4, at the fencing stadium in Olympic Park. It will be their third gig for Korean fans, following their appearance at the Olympic Gymnastics Stadium in 1995, and the passionate performance in the rain last year.
Deep Purple demonstrated the true flavor of 'hard rock' with their splendid guitar renditions of 'Smoke on the Water' and 'Highway Star'. The news of their upcoming concert in Seoul has thrilled rock fans who were mesmorized by their powerful stage personas despite the heavy rain of last year.
Fans need not fear a straight repetition of last year's concert. Intrigue surrounds their planned song selection. Deep Purple have released over 30 albums from which the playlist can be selected. DP promoters, Kwangyunjae PR, said "Deep Purple are well known for their habit of concealing the contents of their repertoire until an hour before the performance." He added that, "Despite this habit, there are some certainties - 'Smoke on the Water' and 'Highway Star', their worldwide hits, will definitely be included."
