Drunk on Peach Blossoms and King Crabs
Yongdok county, located in Kyongsang North Province, is famous for its delicious crabs and the famous drama "You and I." The county plans on throwing a king crab and peach blossom feast from April 15-19.The feast will open at the port of Kanggu. On April 16, the county will sell king crabs from 2-2:30 at unbelievably low prices. Various acitivities are planned for the five-day event. There will be a "Donghaean Byolsin Goot" ("Shaman Ceremony for Distiguished Gods of the East Sea Coastline"), and a Korean traditional music performance.
The area is famous for its 100-li (40 km) road lined with peach trees. Two-day excursions have been organized by Seungwoo Travel Agency (02-720-8311) and the Traveler's Club (02-2277-5155), at 55,000 won for adults and 45,000 won for children.
