Elderly Woman Enters Anti Miss Korea Contest

"I've wanted to enter the contest (anti Miss Korea) ever since I saw it on TV. I'm 81 years old, but very healthy and I want to show people that I enjoy my life. The fact that they admit people with my height (155cm) suits me perfectly."

Ms. Kim Dong-hae (81, Boondang-gu, Songnam city, Kyonggi province) decided to enter the second Anti Miss Korea Contest because the requirements weren't constrictive. The contest, scheduled for May 20, is a beauty contest that selects the team that makes the most of their characteristics, regardless of age pr gender. IF, a publishing company, started the event last year with the aim of opposing traditional beauty norms, including the emphasis on height and western features.

Ms.Kim's health is a result of her open mind and regular exercise. She is proud of the fact that she feels there is no real generation gap between herself and others. Mrs.Kim will lead the opening ceremony of this event playing the role of Gaea (the earth goddess).
