Fans of Japanese Duo Fill Seoul Hotels

Airline companies and hotels in Seoul are on their toes with the arrival of Japanese group 'Chage and Asuka' on August 25 - the pair have enjoyed steady success in Asia since 1978, with more than 700,000 die-hard fans in Japan alone.

Travel agencies estimate that there will be more than 5,000 fans arriving from Japan this weekend to attend concerts at Seoul Olympic Gymnasium on August 26 and 27. Airline reservations from August 25 to 28 have been overbooked as a result.

Hotels in Seoul are equally busy, with 100 of the 500 rooms available at Hotel Lotte being reserved by Japanese fans of Chage and Asuka. The same number of rooms have been booked at Hotel Ritz-Carlton.

One Hotel Royal employee says that usually 80 percent of their guests are here on business, but this weekend, more than 70 percent are here to see Chage and Asuka.
