First Crafts Exhibition Hall Prepares for Launch

The first crafts-centered exhibition and retail hall in Korea will open at Insa Art Center, Kwanhoon-dong in Seoul.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has rented the fourth and fifth floors of Insa Art Center at 2 billion won for the establishment of a 858-square-meter crafts gallery and distributuion center at 2 o'clock on May 26. The gallery and center are part of the craft culture promotion business of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The Craft Culture Promotion Association managing the gallery and exhibition hall, headed by Jang Yoon-woo, is holding a '2020 - Preview of Craft Dreams' to celebrate the opening. About 40 artists will participate in the exhibition including ceramists Ahn Sung-min, Hwang Sung-hun and fiber craftsmen Kim Soo-yon, Lee Jung-woo. The 'Craft Culture Goods Exhibition' features pieces selected from a craft goods contest on the fifth floor. Call 02-733-9040 for more information.
