Guidebook Published on Redeveloping Traditional Markets

A booklet that gives guidance on how to redevelop Korea's traditional markets has been published.

On April 10 the Small and Medium Business Administration published a booklet called, 'Redevelopment and Reconstruction of Traditional Markets' containing information on the process of redeveloping conventional markets in a question-and-answer format.

An administration official said that as the conditions of distribution markets have changed in recent times, for example through e-commerce or the establishment of large distribution enterprises, their commercial supremacy has been weakened very rapidly. This book is designed to help enhance their competitive power.

The book introduces various construction-related laws such as laws for promoting housing construction and laws for redeveloping cities, and explains the process of redeveloping markets in a clear question-and-answer format. The administration will distribute the book to nationwide conventional markets through city, town, and district offices.
