Honeymoons That Don't Cost the Earth
Published: 04 Jan. 2003, 18:48
When a newly-married couple are planning a honeymoon abroad, complaints commonly arise about the cost. In order to address this problem, many travel agencies are starting to offer discount tours to locations such as Guam and the Phillipines.
Discount travel agencies, as compared to full service travel agencies, offer economic travel packages which include lower-priced hotel rooms, and other money-saving features. There is even a company which awards couples with a new PC when they use it to book their honeymoon.
Club Yo-ul(02-736-0505), for example, offers a tour to Guam, which includes hotel rooms at only $30-70, compared to the usual costs of $80-100. Couples using Yo-uls service can expect to save anything from $100 to $280 on their honeymoon.
E Business Tour(02-3436-7797), an Internet tour site, is offering 4 days and 3 nights free hotel accomodation in Guam when couples book their flights through their site. Couples can expect to save up to 50 percent on their honeymoon, but the catch is they have to stay in a cheap hotel or sometimes even a youth hostel, and food is not included in the cost of the tour.
Goldfree.com, another Internet Tour service, will give away a free 466MHz Celeron PC to couples who reserve their honeymoon through its Internet homepage (www.goldfree.com). The monitor is not included. So far, Goldfree has given away 230 PCs.
