International Folk Mask Festival in Cheju Island
The first international folk mask festival will be held in Cheju island during the fall.The city of Cheju nnounced on May 26 that it would hold the first Cheju International Folk Mask Festival from October 5 through 8 with the aim of commercializing the Kamyonnolri (mask festival).
Cheju city has already negotiated with Japan and China regarding their entry for the foreign mask competition.
Cheju city will perform the national representitive folk mask dance and the 'Mask dance announcing the onset of spring in Tamra'(Tamra is the previous name of Cheju Island).
