KBS to Air 32-Hour Special over New Millennium

Korea Broadcasting System (KBS) is to air a live millennium special, 'Korea 2000', for 32 hours from 4pm of December 31, 1999.
About 100 producers, 500 engineers and 33 mobile broadcasting vehicles will participate in the 3-billion-won (approx. $2.65 million) project.
Of special interest will be the broadcasts co-produced by KBS and foreign broadcasters which are to be aired over six hours of the special program.
The line-up will begin with 'Adieu 1999! Millennium Sunset', which will feature the last sunset of the century in Korea and other locations around the globe, followed by the 'Millennium Network: The New Millennium Around the World', which will feature the new year festivities in other countries, including the U.S., the U.K. and Japan.
KBS plans to connect Koreans residing all over the world in its 'Korean Network - Arirang Stage' program at 3:30 pm on New Year's Day.
And finally, the spirit of Korean ancestry will be explored in a 'Millennium History Special'.
