Korean Literature in Translation at Frankfurt Book Fair

Korean literary works are scheduled to be exhibited at the 50th Frankfurt Book Fair which runs from October 7 through October 12 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
According to the Korean Culture and Arts Foundation(KCAF) and Daesan Culture Foundation on October 6, a total of 88 novels and poems that were translated into English, German, French, and Swedish will be shown in the book fair.
Sixty three works including an English version of Park Kyung Ri's 'The Land' and the French version of Yoon Dong Joo's poem 'Sky, Wind, Star, and Poem' were sponsorded by KCAF, and the remaining 25 works including Suh Jung Joo's poem 'Poem of the Vagabond' were sponsorded by Daesan.
This marks the first time that Korean literary works were translated into foreign languages for participation in the Frankfurt Book Fair which has long been regarded as the most influential book fair around the world.
FCAF and Daesan Foundation have been donating 500 million won and 300 million won respectively to the publishers and translators of Korean literature every year.
17 Korean publishers are participating in this year's Frankfurt Book Fair with 1,175 titles from various fields.
