Korean People's Art Federation to Hold Unification Festival

The Korean People's Art Federation (KPAF) will hold a Korean Unification Art Festival sometime in 2000.
The KPAF chief director and Youngnam University professor Kim Yoon-su said in a project meeting, "The festival stopped in 1993. We look forward to re-opening the festival."
A KPAF spokesperson stated that, "We previously attempted to hold a unification concert, art exhibition, music performance, and dance performance with North Korean participants under the title of the Korea Unification Art Festival. However, it failed following our request to pass through Panmunjom."
"We recently questioned North Korea concerning the possibility of holding the festival. NK indicated its readiness to participate, and we hope that the event will become a reality."
