The 3rd Kwachon International Theater Festival is to be held September 10-19 in Kwachon, Kyonggi province.
At the comprehensive performing arts festival,
a total of 40 theatrical productions, including 8 foreign works from 7 different countries, are to be presented.
Foreign works include 'The Wandering of Lambs' by the Mezzanine Theater of France, Italian Nucleo Theater's 'Mascaro' and German Salpuri Theater's performance 'Quest'.
Among the traditional domestic theater productions are Japanese Ryuzanji Company's 'Training Mad Men' and 'Liar, Youngja', a Korean-language play by a Japanese producer about a Korean sex slave of the Japanese Army during WWII.
About 23 local offerings include the mime performance 'Nanta', which scored critical and commercial success at this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival and 'Chunhyang-jon', a well-known love story performed in a traditional outdoor setting.
Admission for most of the performances - except the French production of 'The Wandering of Lambs' and the Korean 'Nanta' - and a circus is free. For more information, call 500-1265.
