'Kyungju World Culture Expo' to Open Next Month

'Kyungju World Expo 2000' is openning in the age-old city Seorabul of Shilla on September 1. The expo focuses on the origin and the history of Korean culture. Visitors can view the 'Hwang Yong Sah 9 Story Wooden Top'a famous Shilla Dynasty wooden pagoda and 'Sokkuram,'a cave housing ancient Shilla Dynasty statues which are considered to be oldest and the best examples of Korean sculpture. One of the main attractions,'Into the Breath of Seorabul' recreates the construction of the 9 story wooded pagoda using virtual reality-bringing the past into the present. Thus, this year's theme is 'The Breath of the New Millennium. Also, 2 North Korean films, which contain messages of the reconciliation between South and North Korea will be shown. Vistiors can enjoy these attractions for 71 days.
