Lee Jung-sup appears to be the deceased painter most beloved by all ages.
According to a survey by the monthly magazine 'Art World' on 1,000 people who visited the 'Korean Artist Festival', held from July 17 to 29, 48 percent of those aged between 10-20, 33 percent of those in their 20's, 45 percent of those in their 30's and 31 percent of those in their 50's selected Lee as their favorite deceased artist. People in their 40's primarily nominated Park Soo-keun, who was ranked second among the 20's age group at 23 percent, given 26 percent by those in their 30's and 25 percent by those in their 50's.
As for the best-loved living painters, some 30 artists, including Paik Nam-june, Chun Kyung-ja and Kim Ki-chang, were selected without the appearance of a clear favorite.
