Matchmaking Companies Busy Preparing for First "Even Day" in 1,112 Years
February 2, 2000 is the first 'even day' in 1,112 years, when all digits of the year, month and date are even numbers.The last 'even day' was August 28, 888.
Matchmaking companies are using the occasion to hold big events for single people.
Sunwoo, the matchmaking company, will hold blind dates for 2,000 people at 200 cafeterias in five cities, including Seoul and Pusan, while arranging blind dates for 20 single senior citizens.
The matchmaking company plans to pay the honeymoon expenses for the first couple to get married after their date on 'even day'.
Duo, another matchmaking company, will arrange blind dates for 22 twins on February 2.
