Musical "The Last Empress" Nominated for LA Ovation Awards

The musical 'The Last Empress' was nominated in three categories of the LA Ovation Awards in the United States.
According to the Korean musical production company A-com, the LA Ovation Awards announced that Lee Tae-won and Kim Won-jung were nominated in the best actress category.
In addition, Choi Hyeong-Oh and Kim Ki-young were selected, respectively, as candidates for stage lighting and sound design awards.
It is the first time that a musical produced in the Orient was nominated for an LA Ovation award, dubbed the 'LA Tony Award' after the New York-based Tony Awards for Broadway productions.
Directed by Yun Ho-jin and based on Yi Mun-yol's novel, 'The Last Empress' was first staged at the Seoul Art Center in 1995 in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the death of Korea's last queen, Queen Min, who was killed by Japanese assassins.
