National Library of Korea to Open North Korean Materials Room

On August 30, the National Library of Korea will open a North Korean reading room stocked with books and materials related to North Korea, which were partially obtained from America and Japan. In this room, there will be North Korean newspapers, books, video tapes, and CD-Roms that contain no special North Korean ideologies.

One insider at the National Library said, "We are planning to increase the materials through direct exchanges of materials with the North Korean Learning Center. I don't think this is an impossible idea at this point. Didn't we agree to exchange North and South Korean newspapers through Panmunjom truce village?" He added that the Library will do their best to make officials discuss this issue at the next North-South Administrative Talks.
