New Apartment Hotel Coming

Hanmoo Convention has clinched a deal with the Oakwood Corporation for a 26-story multi-purpose hotel in the Kangnam district of Seoul.

Due to be completed next August, the Oakwood Premier Coex Center, with floor space of 56,100 square meters, will be near the Inter-Continental Hotel and the Coex Convention Center south of the Han River.

Unlike many other hotels that cater almost solely to business clients, the Oakwood will offer serviced apartments where business people, diplomats, and their families can stay for extended periods.

The apartments will have cooking facilities and guests can stay as long as they like - a month or a year. Pets will also be allowed in the new family-oriented facility.

The hotel will have 218 rooms, including smaller single rooms, larger family suites ranging from 92 to 264 square meters, and deluxe VIP rooms ranging from 330 to 360 square meters.

Los Angles-based Oakwood Home Corporation manages more than 144,000 guest rooms in 850 cities worldwide. The corporation claims to be the world's top provider of temporary accommodations.
