On April 24, a Pusan city official announced, "We have decided to build the 'Pusan Art and Crafts Village' so that people can study and develop new kinds of industrial art objects."
More than $10 million has been allocated for the project.
The village will consist of a single building with three stories above ground and one below ground, a general exhibition and crafts shop, workroom, a room for demonstrating crafts, a tourist information center, and a morgue.
The city plans to make this area a tourist sight for Pusan. In other words, the city expects the village to compete with Tamyang Bamboo Museum and Kangjin Korea Celadon Kiln Sites.
