Plans for Athletic Park Near Han RiverSeoul City announced on May 22 that they planning to construct an athletic park on a 5000 pyong (about 1600 square meters) area south of Banghwa Bridge, Kangso-ku, Seoul.
They are planning to build a soccer field and basketball courts, and also plant waterweeds near the Han River so that fish can use it as a spawning ground. Moreover, they will make sure that the parking lots for the park are well connected with other parks in the area.
"People living in Kangso-ku haven't been able to enjoy the Han River because thay didn't have a park. Therefore, the athletic park will be welcomed by the neighborhood since it can be used as a picnic location for many families," said a city official.
