Proposed Cinemas for Adults Fail to Obtain Approval

The Culture and Tourism Committee of the National Assembly Friday decided not to allow the introduction of adults-only cinemas.
United Liberal Democrats (ULD) and Grand National Party (GNP) lawmakers opposed the revised bill of the movie promotion act, which includes the establishment of the cinemas.
The committee also deleted an article of the revised bill, which raises the minimum age of entry to adult movies to 19 from the current 18.
Lawmakers decided to add an 'over 15' grade to the current 'over 12' and 'over 18' grades applicable to videos and computer game software.
