Resort Complex to Go Up Around Pyongtaek Lake

One of Korea's largest resorts, Pyongtaek Resort Town, to be built around Pyongtaek Lake, is slated for completion in 2005.
A spokesman for the city announced they will divide 2.6 million sq. meters of Kwonkwan, Shinwang, Naeri in the Hyonduk area into 3 complexes and a resort center.
The city invested $1.1 million last month in basic site planning and area-specific necessities. The city is also looking for private investors.
Development plans encompass riverside condominiums and a water park in the Kwonkwan area.
In Shinwang (1.9 million sq. meters) there will be another waterside complex which will house a motor boat area, hotel, convention center, aquarium, shopping malls, and corporate seminar facilities.
The spokesman also said,"We are hoping to gain approval for the plans by September and begin construction soon afterwards."
