For "Seo Tai-ji's Comeback Show," Internet businesses are geering-up by expanding their servers and opening special web pages with news about the pop idol Seo Tai-ji.
iMBC, the Internet affiliate of MBC (Munhwa Broadcasting System), is expected on September 1 to open a 'Seo Tai-ji Comeback Special' website on its web page (taii.imbc.com) with songs, photos, moving pictures, and the latest on the star. Seo Tai-ji's concert will be held on September 9 in the Fencing Stadium of Olympic Park and will be aired September 12. iMBC plans to release the concert after the TV broadcast, perhaps adding some juicy details in the process, like back stage scenes and a brief sketch of concert surroundings.
Hanaro Telecom, who is in charge of iMBC server, added approximately 20 more servers, including an N-GENE server from Internet Data Center, a sever for streaming moving pictures, and a server exclusively for high speed lines (1.2 Gps), in preparation for the expected jump in access by Seo Tai-ji fans. A special edition homepage on Seo Tai-ji (taiji.hananet.net) will also launch September 1.
Netian (www.netian.com), Lycos (www.lycos.kr), Hanaro Telecom, and iMBC are all planning to distribute free concert tickets for 'Seo Tai-ji Comeback Show' to a total of 2000 netizens through a lottery. Internet groups will receive lottery applications from September 1 to 5.
