Seoul"s Seventh Castle Found

The site of Seoul's seventh castle was found at Daemo mountain area in Kangnam district on March 5. It is believed to have been built sometime during the Three Kingdoms Period (57 B.C.- 688 A.D.).
Professor Kang Chan Sok of Chungang University had been searching for the castle since 1996. Professor Choi Jong Pil of Sejong University said, 'There were a lot of china fragments around the area which leads me to believe it was constructed by the Shilla Kingdom to defend against a Kokuryo Kingdom attack.'
However, the area is considerably damaged due to the amount of human traffic along hiking trails.
