Soprano Hong Takes Part of Michaela

Soprano, Hong Hye Kyung, 41, the New York Metropolitan Opera performer, is currently enjoying the best year of her career.
Hong's debut album, titled 'Aria', which RCA released in August, entered New York's Tower Record and HMV top 10 listings this month, and reached 13th in the Billboard Classic Chart.
She became an overnight sensation among New Yorkers and stole the show at the concert she gave at Washington's Kennedy Center's Spring Gala attended by President Kim Dae Jung. She also sang 'Dear Mt.Kumgang' at the White House.'
Hong has performed in operas in Washington DC, Dallas, San Diego and took the role of Michaela of Carmen for the first time. She is from Hongchon City, Kangwon province and attended New York's Julliard School when she was a Yewon Middle school student, and won the 'Met opera audition' in 1982.
