Special Events for Children's Day

On Children's Day, May 5, the National Folk Museum, located in Kyongbokgung palace will be temporarily converted into a huge food court where the foods of 21 countries; including Germany, Austria, Thailand, and Laos can be sampled. The Hilton Hotel will sponsor the event entitled 'World Food Festival' from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Chefs from the Hilton Hotels of each country and cooks recommended by ambassadors will cook for 30,000 people on the grounds of the palace. On the menu there will be representative foods such as Malaysian broiled noodles, Turkish Kebabs, and Italian Spaghetti.

The Hilton will donate all proceeds from the event to Unicef to benefit North Korean children. Dooli, the popular cartoon character, will be on hand to entertain children and there will also be a concert and a magic show.
