Steps Taken to Improve the Social Safety Net
The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MHW) has created two sub-units: the New Millennium Social Welfare Improvement Commission and the New Millennium Health and Medical Improvement Commission. the commissions are made up of representatives from welfare and medical fields who will advise the government on ways to improve the nation's welfare system.The purpose of the commisssions is to develop a ten-year plan that will upgrade the Korean welfare system so that it is on par with the social safety nets of advanced countries.
Their plans will consist of setting strategy,outlining projects and scheduling.
